Lianne Merchant

Lianne Merchant is managing partner at YoungAmericaCapital, a real estate private equity advisory and capital raising firm. Merchant has over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry, having worked as a placement agent, distribution banker, portfolio manager, and marketing professional.

Merchant began their career in 1992 as a portfolio manager at GE Capital. Lianne then moved to Merrill Lynch in 1998, where they managed a portfolio of conduit group loans. In 2000, they joined iStar Financial as vice president of investor relations and marketing.

In 2006, Merchant left iStar to join ParkHill Real Estate Group/The Blackstone Group as a principal. At ParkHill, they were responsible for real estate private equity placement and distribution banking. In 2008, they oversaw the real estate private equity capital raise of $300M for Thayer Hotel Investors fund VI. In 2011, they created pitches, PPMs, and fund structures for RiverOak Investment Corp, LLC as capital raiser for urban retail niche strategy.

Merchant has been with YoungAmericaCapital since 2016.

Lianne Merchant has an AB from Brown University in Science, Mathematics and Education, an MBA from Columbia Business School in Real Estate Finance and Finance, and a High School Regents Diploma from Stuyvesant High School in Math and Science. Lianne also has certifications from FINRA in Series 63 and Series 7.
