Chris Redekop has over 20 years of professional experience in the software development industry. Chris began their career in 1996 as a Research Assistant at Wilfrid Laurier University. In 1998, they joined IBM as an Advisory I/T Specialist. Two years later, they moved to Abridean as a Senior Software Developer. In 2003, they became a Software Developer at Trihedral. Chris then joined The Citco Group of Companies in 2008 as a Build Master and Senior Java Developer. In 2010, they moved to Agfa HealthCare as a Software Developer. In 2015, they joined D2L as a Principal Software Developer and Senior Software Developer. Finally, in 2019, they became a Senior Data Engineer at YOURIKA. Additionally, in 2000, they were the Lead Developer for the Napsack Open-Source Project, creating a multi-threaded file-sharing client with GUI and console support, which has been downloaded over 12000 times.
Chris Redekop has a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, obtained between 2012 and 2017. Chris also has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Honours Computing and Computer Electronics, Philosophy from Wilfrid Laurier University, obtained between 1994 and 1998. Additionally, they have obtained certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate in 2016 and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional in 2018), Red Hat (Red Hat Certified Engineer), and Sun Microsystems (Sun Certified Java Developer).
