Jackie Majerus is a seasoned journalist and educator with extensive experience in youth journalism, community engagement, and mentoring. As the Co-Founder, Executive Director, and Master Teaching Editor of Youth Journalism International since 1994, Jackie has led a global program that empowers young reporters, artists, and photographers across six continents. Previous roles include serving as a moderator for absentee balloting in West Hartford, CT, and president of the Bristol Rotary Club, where Jackie promoted community service. Additional experience includes teaching creative non-fiction at The Mark Twain House & Museum and working as a reporter for various publications, including The Bristol Press and The Citizen. Jackie holds a BA in Journalism, Spanish, and African-American/World Studies from the University of Iowa.
