Brett Bell is currently the Director at Youth Opportunities Unlimited. Brett has also worked as a Summer Associate at Jones Day and as a Legal Intern at the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
Brett graduated from law school in May 2011 and began their career as a Summer Associate at Jones Day. There, they researched complex legal issues, drafted memoranda, and assisted attorneys with litigation and transactions. Brett worked with attorneys in several practice areas, including Corporate Criminal Investigations, Securities Litigation, Trial Practice, Capital Markets, Antitrust, Labor and Employment, and Executive Compensation.
In June 2010, Brett began interning at the US Securities and Exchange Commission's Office of the Chief Accountant as part of the SEC's Summer Honors Law Program. Brett's research into the adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) was used to draft the October 29, 2010 Progress Report of the SEC's "Work Plan for the Consideration of Incorporating IFRS into the Financial Reporting System for U.S. Issuers." Brett also helped draft memos to SEC Commissioners regarding enforcement actions concerning accounting fraud, violations of auditing standards, and suspensions of CPA licenses.
Brett's experience at both Jones Day and the SEC has prepared him well for their current role as Director at Youth Opportunities Unlimited. Brett is dedicated to helping others and committed to making a difference in their community.
Brett Bell is a graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where they earned their J.D. Brett also holds a B.S.B.A. in Accounting (with Honors) and Marketing from The Ohio State University - The Max M. Fisher College of Business.
