Amy Crate has been building and marketing brands for three decades. She began her career in advertising at Saatchi & Saatchi, BBDO, and DDB Worldwide. Later she served in senior marketing, communication, and advisory roles for Carolina Herrera, Mikimoto, Rag & Bone, New Yorkers for Children, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and the American Ballet Theater.
Amy has primarily focused her philanthropic efforts on helping at-risk youth and families. Over the years, she created mutually beneficial strategic partnerships with Vogue, Chloe, Prada, Ann Taylor, IKEA, Walmart, FedEx, Delta Airlines, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Dior Beauty to support programs for youth in foster care.
She currently serves on the National Board of Directors of Youth Villages and the Massachusetts Board where she is Co-Chair of the Development Committee. She served on the Board of Directors of the Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps where she was an early innovator and underwriter of the Detention Diversion Advocacy Program (DDAP), a voluntary intervention alternative to court-ordered detention that provides young people with community-based support and supervision. She is a founding Board Member of Think of Us, an innovative non-profit that is developing a technology platform and mentorship model to improve outcomes of youth aging out of foster care. Amy is also a member of the Board of Trustees and Advancement Committee Chair of her alma mater, the Professional Children’s School in New York City.
