Meera Shenoy

Meera Shenoy is the Founder of Youth4Jobs, an organization dedicated to creating systemic change in the field of disability, a position held since September 2014. Prior to this role, Meera served as a Senior Advisor for UNDP on Skilling and Employment, supporting Mr. Ramadorai, the Advisor to the Prime Minister, from November 2012 to 2014. From 2006 to 2012, Meera worked with the World Bank as a Project Expert focused on youth and employment initiatives across Southeast Asia. Additionally, Meera was the Executive Director of EGMM, India's first state government skilling mission, from January 2005 to October 2011. Meera's consultancy experience includes a position at the World Bank's Dhaka Office from 2008 to 2010. Meera holds an MA in Philosophy from the University of Hyderabad and a diploma in International Television from the BBC.

Y4J is a not-for-profit organization which focuses on skilling and livelihoods of youth with disability. Youth4Jobs has implemented multiple programs that aim to make youth with disability, self-sufficient. Y4J WISE program: Y4J has set up Job - linked skilling centers for youth with disability. The work has scaled from a single training centre to an ALL India presence within a period of 10 years. Youth with physical, speech & hearing disability and with low vision are enrolled in the programs and linked to job opportunities. Y4J Vision program: We have 2 coaching centers for the visually impaired in Hyderabad & Delhi. Y4J helps companies build a more inclusive workforce. Y4J Corporate Connect program: Y4J works with companies to make them 'inclusive'​. It is a one-stop shop offering companies a comprehensive end-to end solution in inclusive hiring. This includes Role Mapping, Market Scan, Employment of Youth with Disability, Workplace Solutions, Sensitization Workshops and Indian Sign Language Training Y4J College Connect program: The program is the first all-India program of its kind to partner with colleges to provide need-based orientation and employment training for students with disabilities and connects them to companies The program creates awareness by conducting information sessions for the educators. The colleges benefit from improved placement records. This program works closely with Synchrony Financial, HSBC, Amazon, Lifestyle Retail, Valeo Automotives, Pepsico, Schneider Electric, TBAL, Colgate Palmolive, Foxconn to name a few. Not Just Art program: A digital platform to promote the works of artists with disabilities. We help artists with disabilities develop sustainable livelihoods in art, turning their passions into successful careers. To do this, the NJA e-store offers original artwork from each artist in a variety of media and formats - perfect for any home or office.
