Gonçalo Gomes has extensive work experience in software engineering. Gonçalo is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at YouView TV Limited since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at AirTies Wireless Networks from 2018 to 2021, where they held the role of Senior Software Engineer and contributed significantly to various projects such as integrating a proprietary mesh solution, implementing back-haul prioritization, and developing a new algorithm for master node election. Gonçalo also mentored new software engineers during their time at the company.

Before joining AirTies Wireless Networks, Gonçalo worked at WIT-Software as a Software Engineer from 2015 to 2018. During their tenure, they conceptualized and implemented a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) based RCS for Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited and engineered a Back-to-Back User Agent (B2BUA) for Home Gateways. Gonçalo was the SPOC for the project and successfully coordinated with different back-ends.

In addition, Gonçalo has worked as a DSP Researcher at IEETA in 2014 and as a Trumpet teacher at Banda Filarmónica da Chãs from 2009 to 2011. Overall, their work experience highlights their expertise in software engineering, algorithm development, and project coordination.

Gonçalo Gomes completed their education at Universidade de Aveiro from 2010 to 2015, where they earned a Masters in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering with a focus on Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering. Prior to that, from 2001 to 2010, they studied at Orfeão de Leiria, specializing in Trumpet and Music Performance. In addition to their formal education, Gonçalo also obtained several certifications, including Agile Project Management from the University of Maryland in June 2019, Complete Cyber Security Course: Volume I from StationX in October 2017, Statement of Accomplishment for R Programming and The Data Scientist’s Toolbox - with Distinction from Coursera in May 2015, and LFS101x.2: Introduction to Linux from LinuxFoundationX in April 2015.
