Africa’s entrepreneurship ecosystem has grown rapidly, yet available data suggests that over 70% of startups and SMEs fail within their first five years due to systemic challenges such as limited access to finance, weak business and technical development support, fragmented market linkages, and inadequate global exposure.

The Ubuntu Youth Business and Entrepreneurship Centre (Yubec) is a non-profit organization, which seeks to strategically leverage Africa’s bilateral and multilateral partnerships to foster resilience, growth, and sustainability in the SME sector. Through collaborative initiatives with foreign investors, multinational corporations (MNCs), diplomatic institutions, international organizations, and development partners, Yubec creates an enabling environment for African SMEs to thrive. The aim is to reduce failure rates among SMEs(from 70% to 40% by innovatively providing a one-stop platform where they can have access to training, finance, market access, and technology transfer.

Our Vision:

To be Africa’s leading catalyst for SME resilience, growth, and sustainability through global partnerships and innovation.

Mission:

To empower Africa’s SMEs by providing a one-stop platform for training, finance, market access, and technology transfer, while strategically leveraging bilateral and multilateral partnerships to reduce failure rates and foster long-term business success.
