Alex Wilson has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Alex began their career in 1987 as a Consultant at Orica, where they worked until 2000. From 2000 to 2005, they served as an SE at Novell, focusing on pre-sales activities for various Novell products.
In 2005, Alex joined Symantec as a Principal Systems Engineer, responsible for delivering security, storage, and systems management solutions to end-user customers and partners. Alex later transitioned to the role of Partner Technical Account Manager, where they developed and maintained technical relationships with strategic partners. Alex worked at Symantec until 2014.
In 2014, Alex joined CA Technologies as a Senior Principal Consultant for presales, specializing in the CA Layer 7 API gateway offerings. Alex contributed to the company's efforts in helping customers expose, secure, and manage backend applications as APIs. Alex also played a crucial role in driving digital transformation and promoting the use of APIs to meet customer demands. Alex remained with CA Technologies until 2017.
Since 2017, Alex has been serving as the Director of Solutions Engineering - APJ at Yubico. Yubico is known for its flagship product, the YubiKey, which provides hardware protection and strong authentication across various IT systems and online services. Alex's role involves supporting multiple authentication and encryption protocols, ensuring access to user accounts for large enterprises, and setting the standard for two-factor and multi-factor authentication.
Throughout their career, Alex has demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity, API management, digital transformation, and evangelizing technology solutions.
Alex Wilson CISSP CCSP completed their education from 1978 to 1984 at Edinburgh in Scotland. Alex pursued a degree in Life Studies from the Royal Navy, which lasted for a period of 6 years. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the CISSP certification from ISC2 in August 2006.
