Derek Hanson

Derek Hanson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Derek started their career at CCI Solutions in 2002, where they held various roles as an IT Specialist, including application developer, web developer, systems analyst, systems administrator, network administrator, and PBX administrator. During their time at CCI Solutions, they primarily focused on implementing solutions tied to the OEF system, such as deploying and enhancing the ecommerce system, handling programmatic updates to inventory and pricing, and deploying data analysis applications for senior management.

In 2009, Hanson joined Vadium Technology as a Software Developer. Derek worked on customizing the Application Life Cycle Management applications and designed and developed an automated appliance creation script that significantly reduced manufacturing time.

Hanson then moved on to Insyndia in 2009, initially as an Infrastructure Architect. In this role, they developed the architecture for a small global enterprise, with a focus on building a globally accessible system for a diverse and widespread end-user population. Derek later became a Lead Solution Architect at Insyndia, implementing strong authentication and identity management solutions for clients. Derek also built and implemented SharePoint Claims Providers for on-premise and hosted solutions.

In 2013, Hanson joined Costco Wholesale as an Identity Services Architect, where they worked with the Identity and Access Management team to develop IAM practices. Derek later transitioned to the role of Directory Services Engineer, contributing to the ongoing development of IAM practices.

Hanson's most recent position was at Yubico, where they held several roles. Derek began as a Senior Solutions Engineer, assisting customers and partners in adopting Yubico solutions for authentication. Derek then became a Solutions Architect, focusing on participating in the FIDO alliance and advocating for the benefits of U2F. Later, they were promoted to Senior Director, overseeing Solutions Architecture and Standards. Finally, they served as the Vice President of Solutions Architecture and Alliances, taking on additional responsibilities in managing partnerships and alliances.
