Kaan Erol

Kaan Erol has a diverse work experience in the field of hardware engineering. Kaan started their career in 1999 as a Sr. Hardware Design Engineer at Accordion Networks, Inc. Kaan then worked at Terablaze Inc. as a Sr. Hardware Design Engineer from 2001 to 2003, where they evaluated various interfaces and package technologies and created a customer application and evaluation platform.

From 2003 to 2012, Kaan worked at N.E.T. (Sonus Networks) as a Principal Hardware Design Engineer. In this role, they gained extensive experience in board level design, PCB design from conception to manufacturing, and compliance testing. Kaan also worked with various embedded CPUs and interfaces.

In 2012, Kaan joined Sanovas, Inc. as a Sr. Hardware Design Engineer/Project Lead, where they contributed to hardware design projects and served as a project lead.

Currently, Kaan Erol is working at Yubico. Kaan initially joined in 2018 as a Principal Hardware Engineer and later became the Director of Hardware Engineering in August 2020.

Kaan Erol obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, which they attended from 1984 to 1989. Kaan later pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at South Dakota Mines from 1989 to 1992.

In addition to their formal education, Kaan Erol has obtained several certifications. In 2018, they received certifications in Lean Six Sigma Teams: Analyze, Improve, and Control Tools, Scrum: The Basics, Lean Six Sigma Foundations, Lean Six Sigma Teams: Define and Measure Tools, Six Sigma Foundations, and Six Sigma: Green Belt, all from LinkedIn. In 2013, they obtained certifications in History of Rock, Part One from Coursera, as well as Image and video processing: From Mars to Hollywood with a stop at the hospital, also from Coursera.
