Raye Shilen

Director of Quality at Yukon Learning

Raye Shilen has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Raye started their career as a Language Arts Teacher at USD 332, where they educated children in grades 8-12 and maintained student records. Raye then transitioned to working at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma as an Admissions Counselor, where they recruited high school students and provided guidance on admissions and financial aid.

In 2004, Raye joined the Wichita Mountains Prevention Network as a Prevention Specialist, coordinating community coalitions and delivering substance abuse prevention trainings. Raye also served as a Prevention Specialist at the same organization from 2009 to 2011, focusing on community mobilization and reduction of youth access to substances.

From 2012 to 2012, Raye worked at the State of Washington as the SPE Grant Training Coordinator for the Division of Behavioral Health & Recovery. In this role, they coordinated special topics trainings and managed the production of e-learning products.

Raye then worked at PreventionGeek Consulting in 2013 as a Social Media & E-Learning Consultant. Raye assisted prevention providers in utilizing social media and technology and designed e-learning courses for the State of Washington.

Since 2013, Raye has been employed by Yukon Learning, initially as a Learning Director, where they facilitated training sessions and managed multiple custom e-learning projects. Raye later became the Development Team Lead, overseeing a team of e-learning developers and ensuring accessibility standards compliance. Raye then took on the role of Director of Development and is currently serving as the Director of Quality.

Throughout their career, Raye has demonstrated expertise in e-learning development and implementation, project management, and community outreach.

Raye Shilen has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Behavioral Sciences from Cameron University, which was obtained from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, during the period of 1996 to 1999.

In addition to their formal education, Raye Shilen has pursued further certifications. Raye obtained the Dare to Lead training from Dare to Lead™ Trained in March 2022. Additionally, they completed the Accessibility Best Practices-Certificate of Completion from the Bureau of Internet Accessibility in January 2021. Raye is also a Professional Member of the IAAP - International Association of Accessibility Professionals, which they obtained in March 2023.
