Tara Shawel

Tara Shawel currently serves as the Global Chief People & Culture Officer at Yum! Brands, a position held since May 2025. Prior to this role, Tara held various human resources leadership positions at Walgreens Boots Alliance from April 2020 to May 2025, including Vice President of Human Resources for Retail & Consumer and Senior Director of Global HR Business Partner across different sectors. Additionally, Tara contributed as Vice Chair on the Board of Directors at Make-A-Wish® Illinois from January 2011 to January 2017. Tara's earlier experience includes HR roles at Walgreens from March 2009 to May 2016 and as an Organizational Effectiveness Specialist at Montgomery Wards. Educationally, Tara earned a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Development from Northeastern Illinois University between January 1996 and January 1998.
