Eric Patten

Eric Patten has a diverse work experience in various roles related to communication, writing, and sports. Eric currently works as a Contributing Writer for The Sporting Tribune since 2022.

In the past, Eric served as the Chief Communications Officer (CCO) for the Yuma Union High School District from July 2019 till now. Eric led the communications team and was responsible for creating and curating content, including graphics, video production, presentations, and public relations. Eric also served as a public information officer during high-importance incidents. Before that, Eric held the position of Director of Communications & Community Engagement from July 2017 to June 2019 and worked as a Journalism and Marketing Teacher from July 2016 to June 2017 within the same organization.

Additionally, Eric served as an Assistant Basketball Coach at Yuma High School from October 2016 to July 2018. Eric also worked as a Writer for Prep2Prep from December 2015 to May 2017.

Eric gained valuable experience during their tenure with the Los Angeles Clippers, where they held the role of Digital Media Manager & Communications Coordinator from October 2011 to August 2014. Eric was responsible for leading and producing content for the team's official website, including news, game coverage, feature stories, and game notes for media usage.

Furthermore, Eric worked as a Sales Marketing Coordinator for the Events Division at UBM Canon from June 2011 to September 2012. Eric also contributed as a Reporter / Web Content Provider for the Orange County Register from September 2008 to September 2012, covering a wide range of sports events.

Earlier in their career, Eric served as an intern for the UC Irvine Sports Information Department from August 2009 to December 2009. Eric contributed to the official sports website through writing feature stories and providing statistical information. Eric also gained administrative experience as an Administrative Assistant at Canon Communications from June 2008 to January 2009, where they handled various tasks such as supply organization and communication with vendors.

Lastly, Eric worked as a Blogger for Sports Hub LA from May 2008 to January 2009. Eric wrote editorial-style columns, blog posts, and breaking news stories on a Los Angeles-based sports website. Eric also collaborated with prominent sports journalists from ESPN Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Times.

Following this, they pursued further education at North Seattle College for the academic year 2005-2006. Although no specific degree or field of study was mentioned during this period. Later, they attended Los Angeles Valley College from 2007 to 2008, where they acquired a transfer degree in Journalism. Finally, they attended UC Irvine from 2009 to 2011, where they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History.
