Beitao Li

Beitao Li has significant work experience in data science and analytics. Beitao is currently the Head of Data Science at Z League, where they lead data strategy and projects while also building and growing the data science team. Previously, they held various positions at Tumblr, including Head of Data and Director of Data Science, where they led data strategy, managed teams, and focused on areas such as information retrieval, recommendation systems, and analytics. Before that, Beitao Li worked at Etsy as a Principal Data Scientist, where they contributed to improving the ranking algorithms and user experience through data mining. Beitao also served as an Engineering Manager/Lead Data Scientist at Ask.com, leading a team responsible for developing enterprise-level solutions for the classification of large-scale web data. Overall, Beitao Li has a strong background in leveraging data to drive business insights and improve user experiences.

Beitao Li received their Bachelor of Science degree in the Special Class for Gifted Youngs from the University of Science and Technology of China, where they attended from 1992 to 1997. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Chemical Physics from Stanford University, from 1997 to 1999. Finally, they completed their education with a Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Data Mining, and Information Retrieval from the University of California, Santa Barbara, graduating in 2003.
