Vishwa Teja Kasoju, Ph.D.

Mechanical Engineer at Zahroof Valves

Vishwa Teja Kasoju, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience. In 2021, they began working as a Mechanical Engineer at ZAHROOF VALVES INC. where they design for structural and thermal loading using finite element analysis in Creo/ProE and creates 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) using ASME Y14.5 and tolerance stack analysis in Creo/ProE. From 2015 to 2021, they worked as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Oklahoma State University. As a Graduate Research Assistant, they built a flapping robotic model, performed structural (FEA) and fluid dynamic analysis (CFD) using Ansys, and increased the swimming performance of an under-water Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) by 20%. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, they prepared and monitored lab experiments for Junior undergraduate students, conducted office hours to help students with data analysis and reports, and held weekly discussion sessions and help hours for homework's and grading. In 2020, they worked as a Product Design Engineer at CIE-Oklahoma State University, where they raised $10k dollars of funding by successfully designing, analyzed structural and fluid dynamic characteristics on a 10cm micro foldable drone for an innovative startup company SKYNET, decreased the idle footprint of the drone by 30% by using knuckle connectors to fold the drone legs, and achieved a significant thrust to weight ratio of ~2. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Design Engineer at Intergraph PP&M. During this time, they automated various workflows in the Smart Plant P&ID using VBA, integrated old 2D designs into a 3D design platform for a client, and provided smart and timely support on Smart Plant P&ID application for various process and power companies/contractors.

Vishwa Teja Kasoju, Ph.D. has an extensive educational background. In 2009, they graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering from Osmania University. Vishwa Teja then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Oklahoma State University, which they completed in 2017. In 2021, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD from Oklahoma State University. Additionally, they hold certifications from LinkedIn and Dassault Systèmes, which they obtained in 2021 and 2020 respectively.
