Jim Rippon has a diverse work experience in the field of IT infrastructure and engineering. Starting in 2012, they worked as a Senior Systems Administrator at BrightTALK for a year before moving on to fanatix, where they took on the role of Senior Systems Administrator and successfully implemented a new infrastructure system. In 2014, they joined RhythmOne as a Cloud Engineer, responsible for managing cloud architecture, support, and maintenance for various web properties. Jim then worked at Amazon as a Contract Sysadmin/DevOps/Cloud Engineer before joining the UK Home Office as a Contract Lead DevOps Engineer. In 2019, they worked as a Contract Lead DevOps Engineer for Hubbado, where they defined and implemented the DevOps function for a large financial organization. Jim also contributed their expertise as a Consultant DevOps Engineer for Learning with Experts, assisting in the design and implementation of an Infrastructure-As-Code platform. Jim later worked as a Contract SysOps Engineering for GOBSMACK LIMITED before assuming their current role as a Principal Cloud Engineer at Zaizi. Throughout their career, Jim has demonstrated a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and automation.

Jim Rippon attended the University of East Anglia from 1998 to 1999, where they studied Electronic Engineering with Computing. Prior to that, they attended Hethersett High School from 1994 to 1996. Jim also studied A Level Maths, Physics, and Computing at Solihull Sixth Form College. In addition to their education, Jim obtained several certifications, including AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional from Amazon Web Services. Jim also holds certifications from RedHat, CompTIA, and Microsoft.
