Jorge Pedro Velasco Hurtado

Jorge Pedro Velasco Hurtado has extensive maritime experience, currently serving as a 2nd Officer DPO at Zakher Marine International Inc since October 2022, responsible for safety and fire equipment, navigational watchkeeping, and dynamic positioning during surface and saturation operations. Previous roles include 2nd Officer DPO and Chief Mate/SDPO at Harren & Partner, where responsibilities involved navigational watchkeeping and maintenance, along with leading safety protocols. With a background in various positions at Administradores Navieros Del Golfo, OCEAMAR Offshore Agency, Bumi Armada, Grupo Evya, Marinsa de Mexico, Hornbeck Offshore, denamex, and Bajaferries, Jorge has developed strong competencies in dynamic positioning operations, safety management, and maritime security. Jorge obtained a degree in Naval Pilot/Mate from Escuela Nautica Mercante Cap. Alt. Luis Gonzaga Priego Gonzalez and is pursuing further education as a Captain/Chief Mate at the Escuela Naútica Mercante de Tampico.
