We started working on Zakk in early 2025 after spending time with people working in customs, import, and freight forwarding. What stood out quickly was not a lack of expertise — but how much of the work was still done the same way it had been 30–40 years ago. Manual data entry, copying values between systems, and interpreting complex documents under time pressure are still common in an industry where accuracy and compliance are critical.

We believed this could be done better.

Zakk is built to remove manual work from customs and trade compliance by using AI where it actually makes sense: reading invoices, extracting line items, classifying goods with HS codes, estimating weights, and turning unstructured documents into validated, machine-readable data. Instead of replacing expertise, Zakk supports it with confidence-based predictions and clear correction workflows.

Zakk is API-first and UI-optional, designed to integrate directly into existing ERP, TMS, and logistics systems. Our platform processes documents asynchronously, provides full transparency into AI results, and fits into established operational workflows without forcing users to change how they work.

Our focus is on building the document intelligence and compliance layer for cross-border trade and transport — reducing friction, errors, and wasted time in processes that still rely heavily on manual effort.
