Syamala Umamaheswaran

Syamala Umamaheswaran currently serves as Engineering Manager and Engineering Lead at Zalando since March 2022. Prior to this, Syamala worked at Volkswagen AG from July 2016 to March 2022 as a Software Engineer, contributing to product development within a balanced team. Syamala's earlier experience includes a role as Senior Software Engineer at Hexad GmbH, from August 2015 to June 2016, where responsibilities included developing a BI solution for Volkswagen, focusing on data modeling and report building. Between June 2009 and July 2015, Syamala held the position of Manager Technology at YPAYCASH, overseeing product development and assisting in market domain proofs of concept. Syamala holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering from K.L.N. College of Information Technology, completed in 2009, and completed secondary education at Sri Vaiyapuri Vidhyalaya Matric Hr Sec School from 1996 to 2005.
