Andrew Banda

Andrew Banda has over 16 years of work experience in the field of Information Technology. Andrew is currently working as the Head of Information Technology at Zambia National Building Society since April 2021. Previously, they held various positions at FNB Zambia, including Senior Manager IT from October 2015 to March 2021, Manager IT Operations from July 2012 to October 2015, and Senior IT Field Engineer from March 2009 to July 2012. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior IT Technician at Lusaka International Community School from December 2008 to March 2009. Andrew also worked as an IT Specialist at the Examinations Council of Zambia from June 2008 to December 2008, Senior IT Engineer at Sun International Zambia from January 2008 to June 2008, Senior IT Technician at Network Consultants Limited from July 2006 to January 2008, and IT Support Specialist at MUVI TV from June 2005 to July 2006.

Andrew Banda is currently pursuing a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Information and Communication Technology Security at the University of Zambia, which they started in 2019 and is expected to complete in 2023. Prior to this, in 2018, they obtained a certification in Certified Information Systems Security Professional from The International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC)². Andrew also holds a Master of Science in Project Management from the University of Lusaka, completed between 2016 and 2018. In addition, they have obtained various certifications in different fields, including COBIT 5 from ISACA in 2018, Security+ from CompTiA in 2010, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) from Microsoft Learning in 2010, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) from Microsoft Learning between 2009 and 2010, Information technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL V3) from EXIN in 2008, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) from Microsoft Learning between 2007 and 2008, Cisco Certified Network Associate from Cisco Academy in 2008, A+ Certified Professional and Network+ Certified Professional from CompTiA in 2007, and Microsoft Certified Professional from Microsoft Learning in 2005. Prior to their higher education, Andrew obtained an Advanced Diploma in Computer Science & Information Processing from Evellyn Hone College of Applied Arts & Sciences between 2003 and 2004. Andrew also holds a School Certificate in GCE O Level from Hillcrest Technical Secondary School, obtained between 1997 and 1999, and a Grade 9 School Certificate from Munali Junior Secondary School in 1995-1996.
