Maiken Økland

Maiken Økland has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in communications, marketing, and journalism. Maiken is currently the Head of Communications at Zaptec since April 2021. In addition, they serve as a Board Member at Grand Hotell Egersund and Kommunikasjonsforeningen Rogaland. Maiken also hosts a podcast called "Avdelingsmøte med Maiken og Susanne," where they discuss marketing and communication in digital media. Prior to this, they worked as a Content Advisor and Owner at Aprikos.no, where they provided content for social media and conducted training on influencer marketing. Maiken has also held roles as a Digital Marketing Manager at Sandviks AS, Communications Advisor and Communications Officer at SKAGEN Fondene, and Journalist at Stavanger Aftenblad and Jærbladet. Maiken began their career as a Customer Advisor at Kolumbus - Rogaland Fylkeskommune.

Maiken Økland obtained a Bachelor's degree in Journalistikk from the University of Stavanger, where they studied from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, they earned another Bachelor's degree in PR, kommunikasjon og media from Volda University College (HVO), where they attended from 2008 to 2011. In secondary school, Maiken attended Forus videregående skole from 2005 to 2008. Maiken also studied Fine and Studio Arts at Somerset College of Arts and Technology from 2006 to 2007. In addition, Maiken Økland obtained a certification in Sprout Social Platform from Sprout Social, Inc. in April 2022.
