Shayan Rahnama

Shayan Rahnama is currently the VP Product at ZayZoon. Prior to this, they were with FundThrough for 5 years, where they were Head of Product. Shayan is responsible for coordinating the lifecycle of enterprise and SMB products in Canada and the US, capturing internal and external client needs, and prioritizing features on the basis of value/ effort. Shayan also structures and communicates roadmaps and coordinates development using agile methodologies.

Under their leadership, the product management team established processes for requirement collection and prioritization, and collaborated with business, tech, and customer stakeholders. Shayan also set up user feedback channels and regular direct UX research cadence to increase iteration speed and help guide prioritization and feature selection.

In 2016, they coordinated the design, planning, development, and launch of the company's first mass market SMB lending product, which took the product from idea to launch in 6 weeks. The product was launched in the US in 2017, and Shayan worked with Sales and Marketing to grow revenue to approximately 30% US-based within 1 year.

Shayan has used a combination of direct user research, feedback tagging, and data-driven funnel and behavioural analysis to iterate from MVP to maturity, resulting in 3x year-over-year revenue growth. Shayan has also developed acquisition and retention analysis methodologies, designed drip campaigns and other interventions to drive activation rates up and increase client LTV.

In addition, they have built successful partnerships with Cortex, growing revenue contribution to 30% of gross annual revenue. Shayan uses a transparent and data-driven iterative approach, using qualitative and quantitative analysis to rapidly optimize product offerings.

Shayan is a team player who believes in the power of collaboration. Shayan has direct management experience of junior product managers, product analysts, and product marketing specialists.

Shayan Rahnama has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management and a BASc in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo.

Shayan Rahnama reports to Darcy Tuer, Co-Founder & CEO. Some direct reports include Victor Platon - Product Designer, Ryan Madden - Product Owner. They work with Tate Hackert - Co-Founder & President, Shane Edrington - Director of Sales & Business Development, and Jamie Ha - Co-Founder & CFO.
