Alessandra Martini

Co-Founder & COO at Zazu Africa

Alessandra Martini has a wide range of work experience, starting in 2011 when they were the Vice-Director of a CISV Summer Camp. In 2013, they were a Corporate Immigration Intern at Mazzeschi S.r.l. and in 2014, they were a Marketing and Communication Assistant at MUC Omnisport/Vacances and a Project Consultant at Rift Valley Institute. In 2015, they were a Fundraising and Communication Assistant at Concordis International and an Executive Team Member at LSE Africa Summit. From 2016 to 2021, they were the Co-Founder and COO of Zazu Africa and, as of 2021, is the Co-Founder and COO of Union54 (YC S21), which provides an API for African fintechs to easily issue debit cards.

Alessandra Martini obtained their B.A. (Hons.) in International Relations (European) from the University of Leeds in 2013. Alessandra then attended the Universit\u00e9 libre de Bruxelles in 2011-2012 as part of the ERASMUS Programme, studying Politics and Development. In 2014, they obtained the DALF C1 certification from the Minist\u00e8re de l'\u00e9ducation nationale, de l'inseignement sup\u00e9rieur et de la recherche. Alessandra then went on to pursue an MSc African Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2014-2015.
