Jakob Gjelstrup Kristensen

Jakob Gjelstrup Kristensen has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Jakob Gjelstrup currently holds the position of Senior Vice President at Zealand Pharma since July 2022. Prior to that, they were the Vice President, Device & Manufacturing Science & Commercial Manufacturing at Zealand Pharma from March 2017 to July 2022.

Before joining Zealand Pharma, Kristensen had a long career at Novo Nordisk, where they held various leadership roles. From February 2015 to February 2017, they served as the Vice President, Cultivation Pilot Plants, CMC Development. Jakob Gjelstrup was the Director of Upstream Pilot Plants, CMC API Development from November 2011 to February 2015. Additionally, they held the position of Director of Purification Plants for Liraglutide, Diabetes API from January 2010 to August 2012.

Kristensen also has experience in quality assurance, having worked as the QA Department Manager for CMC Analysis & Formulation QA, CMC Supply from October 2007 to December 2009. Jakob Gjelstrup served as the QA Department Manager for Good Laboratory Practice Quality Assurance, Quality System Surveillance from January 2006 to October 2007. Moreover, they were a QA Team leader and Specialist for Product Development QA from September 2003 to December 2005, and a QA Coordinator for Product Development QA from June 2001 to September 2003.

Jakob Gjelstrup began their career with part-time positions at Vaisenhus Apotek, Naryana Research, and UNICEF from January 1999 to July 2001.

Jakob Gjelstrup Kristensen has a diverse educational background. Jakob Gjelstrup completed the Strategy Execution Program at the Harvard Business School Executive Education in 2015. Prior to this, they obtained a HD degree in Organisatorisk Lederskab from the Copenhagen Business School between 2000 and 2004. Jakob Gjelstrup'searlier education includes a Master of Science (MSc) in Pharmacy from the University of Copenhagen, which they pursued from 1995 to 2001.
