Thor Nielsen

Principal Statistician at Zealand

Thor Nielsen has a diverse work experience in the field of biostatistics. Thor started their career as a Statistician at the Danish Army in 2008. Later, they worked as a Student Assistant at the National Board of Health, where they performed data extraction and management tasks using SAS and SQL. In 2011, Thor joined Kræftens Bekæmpelse (Danish Cancer Society) as a Student Assistant, where they worked on data management and statistical analysis of epidemiological data. Thor also wrote a master's thesis during their time there. In 2014, Thor moved to Novo Nordisk (Biostatistics) as a Biostatistician, where they were responsible for exploratory analysis, market access tasks, submission packages, and trial statistician on high-profile trials. Additionally, they led a team of statisticians and statistical programmers in India for a HTA dossier. In 2017, Thor joined LEO Pharma as a Senior Biostatistician and later became a Principal Biostatistician. In these roles, they were a project statistician for high priority projects and actively participated in strategic decisions as a member of the Global Project Team. Starting from 2022, Thor currently holds the position of Principal Statistician at Zealand Pharma.

Thor Nielsen completed their education at two different institutions. From 2002 to 2005, they attended Frederiksberg HTX, where they completed their Technical Gymnasium degree. Later, from 2005 to 2012, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Mathematical Modeling and Computation at DTU - Technical University of Denmark.
