Founded by David A. Sheikh, ZeCoat Corporation has assembled a talented group of experts in the fields of coating design, physical chemistry, electronics, mechanical design and software development to provide specialized vacuum coating capabilities to the astronomy and aerospace communities.

ZeCoat utilizes a custom-designed, state-of-the-art vacuum coating system, which can uniformly coat substrates up to 1.2-meters in diameter. The vacuum chamber uses a motion-controlled evaporation source to achieve exceptional layer precision and fully densified coatings.

ZeCoat has supplied silver coatings to several world-class observatories  and delivered thermal control coatings on flight hardware for a NASA Mars mission (InSight). ZeCoat has developed a polishable silicon cladding process for lightweight mirrors (SPIE publication on our silicon cladding process is available on our website at zecoat.com).
