Jacob Hollenbeck has a diverse work experience starting from 2009. Jacob began their career as a Web Application Developer at Crystaline Vision, where they developed online stores using Ruby on Rails and integrated PayPal features for simplified checkouts. In 2010, they worked as a Web Application Developer for Item Mania Network Technology, focusing on the development of a Facebook application. Jacob also deconstructed an existing C# codebase and designed new templates for the application.

In 2011, Jacob joined Citizen, Inc. as a Web Application Developer, where they contracted to develop a Facebook game in Ruby on Rails. Jacob extensively utilized jQuery and AJAX push technologies to facilitate game interactions. At Crystaline Vision, they resumed their role as a Web Application Developer in 2012, where they developed websites and designed backends using Ruby on Rails, Linux, and SQLite.

Jacob's experience in web development continued at Internet Media Services in 2012, where they worked as a Web Application Developer and designed an auction site. Jacob used Ruby on Rails, MySQL, and jQuery to facilitate random price drops on silent-bid actions. Jacob also integrated open-source background processors and AJAX push services for this project.

In 2012, Jacob joined Amazon.com as a Senior Web Developer, where they were responsible for developing the User Interface for Amazon Gift Cards. Jacob also architectured and developed the next-generation web application platform, which is still in use today. Their contributions to this platform have led to billions in annual sales and its status as the defacto standard for new applications.

In 2014, Jacob worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Dwellable, where they served as a lead developer for the mobile web experience. The company was later acquired by HomeAway Inc. In 2015, they joined Vrbo, where they held various roles. As a Senior Mobile Engineer, they revitalized the Vrbo (formerly HomeAway) iOS application, transforming it into a top-rated app in the Travel category. Jacob also implemented CI/CD processes using Jenkins and Fastlane. Later, as a Staff iOS Engineer, Lead, they hired and led a team of over 15 iOS engineers, focusing on the development of the Vrbo iOS application and implementing the checkout service.

Jacob's most recent experience is at Fresh Chalk, where they worked as a Senior Staff Engineer from 2020 to 2021. Jacob worked as a full-stack engineer and built the iOS app for Fresh Chalk, showcasing their proficiency in Rails and iOS development.

Currently, they are working as a Principal Engineer at ZenBusiness, starting in 2021.

Jacob Hollenbeck earned an Associate of Science degree from Centralia College from 2005 to 2007. Jacob then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied and Computational Mathematical Sciences from the University of Washington from 2007 to 2010.
