Nelson To has a comprehensive work experience in the field of engineering. Nelson started their career at Johnson Matthey in 2012, where they held multiple roles including Material Engineer, Process and Mechanical Engineer, Chemical Process Engineer, and Research and Development Engineer & NPI Coordinator. In these roles, Nelson maximized process efficiency, developed new manufacturing techniques, and led the implementation of automation and 3D printing technologies. Nelson also played a key role in product development and coordination of cross-functional teams. In 2019, Nelson moved to Radiometer as a Process Engineer, where they focused on developing and implementing new manufacturing processes, identifying capital equipment for operational improvement, and implementing continuous improvement activities. Most recently, in 2021, Nelson joined Zense Life as a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer, where they optimized production processes and successfully eliminated one full-time operator position through effective improvements. Overall, Nelson has a proven track record of optimizing processes, improving yield and efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout their career.

Nelson To began their education journey in 2004 at the University of Toronto, where they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering. Nelson successfully completed this program in 2008. Subsequently, Nelson continued their academic pursuits at the same institution and enrolled in the Master of Applied Science program in Materials Science and Engineering. Nelson obtained their M.A.Sc. degree in 2011.
