Michael del Rio has had extensive work experience, starting as a physiotherapist at Sunnybrook in 2011 and then becoming a full-stack web developer as a self-employed individual from June 2018 to December 2019. Michael then co-created Bento, an open source, serverless video transcoding pipeline deployed to Amazon Web Services, where they implemented a massively parallel approach to transcoding video files using Node. This experience led him to work as a senior software developer at Tehama from September 2020 to December 2022. Michael will be joining Zensurance in 2023 as a software developer.

Michael del Rio completed their Core Curriculum in Web Development and Software Engineering from Launch School in the year 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Ottawa during the academic years 2003-2007. In 2022, they received the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
