Sara Pacque-Margolis has over 15 years of experience in international development and global health. Sara began their career in 2013 as the Director of the International Development Group at University Research Co., LLC (URC) & Center for Human Services (CHS). In this role, they managed an office implementing a $45 million annual global health and education portfolio operating in sub-Saharan Africa, SE Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. Sara also led the development of a winning proposal and partnership for a $68 million USAID/Ghana Systems for Health Project and served as the acting chief-of-party for the six month start-up period. In 2015, they took a sabbatical and undertook consultancies in strategic planning, proposal writing, M&E, and training. During this time, they also completed classes in entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, and coaching. Sara also developed the initiative BreastHealthNow, which focused on education and empowerment of women and youth to engage community stakeholders and forge corporate partnerships to improve breast cancer awareness, early diagnosis, treatment, and palliative care. In 2017, they became the Director of the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie), where they directed 3ie's evidence programs, including impact evaluation and implementation research grants, replication research, global public goods, 3ie's membership program, and numerous professional services contracts across development sectors. Sara also launched and led the implementation of the West Africa Capacity-Building for Impact Evaluation Program (WACIE). As a member of 3ie's executive team, they led new business initiatives, organizational change management, HR policy development, annual workplanning and reporting, and represented 3ie at various international fora. In 2018, they became the Business Development Advisor and Start-up Project Director at Palladium: Make It Possible. In 2019, they took on roles as the Senior New Business Strategist and Project Startup Consultant at the Population Reference Bureau and the Senior Business Development Consultant at University Research Co., LLC (URC) & Center for Human Services (CHS). In 2020, they became the Senior Vice President, Vice President of Growth, and Senior Director, Global Health and Development at Zenysis Technologies. In 2021, they became a Founding Board Member at Unlock Aid.
Sara Pacque-Margolis has an extensive educational background. Sara obtained a Ph.D. (a.b.d.) in Demography and Population Studies from The Johns Hopkins University in 1995, a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) in International Health from The Johns Hopkins University in 1987, and a B.A. in a double major of Biology and English from Wesleyan University in 1981. Additionally, they obtained a Certified DISC+ Coach from Institute Success in February 2019, and a Board Certified Coach from the Center For Credentialing & Education in October 2016.
