Senior Software Engineer at Zenysis

Sybrand Strauss has over 15 years of work experience in software engineering. In 2022, they joined Zenysis Technologies as a Senior Software Engineer. Prior to that, they were a Full Stack Developer at the Government of British Columbia from 2018 to 2022. From 2015 to 2018, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at SPAN Digital Innovation, where they were expected to rapidly skill up and deliver value in whatever technology was required to satisfy client requirements. From 2013 to 2015, they were an Open Source Software Developer at MWeb, where they played a key role in the WiFi proof of concept and subsequent country-wide roll-out, as well as designing and implementing the WiFi user sign-up and integration into existing MWEB business systems. From 2011 to 2013, Sybrand was a Senior Developer at QES, where they were subcontracted to MWEB and was responsible for back-end development of a cloud storage application. From 2010 to 2011, they were a Senior Programmer at Orderwise. From 2009 to 2010, they were a Senior Developer at Pure Technologies, where they worked with C#. NET, Windows services, and WPF. From 2006 to 2009, they were a Senior Developer at Bathabile, where they were the lead developer for the MediPay project, a mobile GPRS based medical claims submission system. From 2005 to 2006, Sybrand was a Senior Programmer at JMR/Accenture/JSE, where they were subcontracted to Accenture and was responsible for programming various communication components within a larger system earmarked to replace the entire trading infrastructure. Lastly, from 2005 to 2006, they were a Senior Programmer at Sensetel, where they worked on back-end development on NedBank's customer internet banking system, web front-end for South African National Roads Agency vehicle identification pilot project, and completion of a server & front-end application for Air Traffic & Navigation Services.

Sybrand Strauss attended the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika from 2004 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computational Intelligence.
