Alex Swehla has been in the tech industry since 2009, beginning their career as a Desktop Support Specialist for ACS, a Xerox Company. In 2011, they took on the role of Systems Administrator for Bottini Fuel, where they automated account data recovery and processing from legacy systems and developed upgrade plans for main business services. From 2012-2018, Swehla worked for Palantir Technologies as a Site Reliability Engineer and Mission Operations Systems Analyst, where they designed an automated server deployment system and updated the design of Mobile Training kits. In 2017, they took on the role of Ground Software Engineer for Capella Space, and in 2016, they worked as a Systems Engineer for Twitch. In 2015, Swehla was a Software Engineer for ThinAir, and in 2019, they took on the roles of Senior Security Engineer/Architect and DevOps Engineer for Bolt. In 2021, Swehla became a Staff Infrastructure Engineer for HackerOne and Co-founder/CTO for Zephyr Computing Systems.

Alex Swehla attended Hudson Valley Community College from 2004 to 2008, studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Alex also earned an AS and a Diploma in Mathematics and Science from the same college.
