Zero AMR Initiative is a community-centred public health initiative committed to combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through education, research, innovation, advocacy, and community action. We work to protect the effectiveness of antimicrobials and promote healthier communities for present and future generations.

AMR is a growing global health challenge that threatens the prevention and treatment of infections. Zero AMR Initiative addresses this challenge by promoting responsible antimicrobial use, preventing infections, strengthening awareness, and supporting evidence-based solutions.

Our work focuses on Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS), Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), One Health, climate-responsive action, and Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR). Through community engagement, school and university outreach, research, digital campaigns, innovation, and partnerships, we empower communities to adopt healthier behaviours and contribute to stronger health systems.

We recognize that AMR is interconnected with human health, animal health, environmental sustainability, and climate change. Through the One Health approach, we promote collaboration across sectors to develop sustainable solutions that protect communities and ecosystems.
