Frederick Tombs

Frederick Tombs is a Senior Software Engineer currently at Zero ASIC since April 2025, specializing in FPGA architecture and design automation toolchain development using C++, Verilog/VHDL, and Python. Prior to this role, Frederick worked at Efinix, Inc. from February 2021 to March 2025, focusing on FPGA electronic design automation tool development with similar programming languages. Earlier experience includes software development internships at Microchip Technology Inc., Autodesk, Ford Motor Company, Mitre Media, and Flipp, where Frederick contributed to various projects in FPGA synthesis tools, VFX production management, infotainment systems, and web development. Frederick holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, completed in 2020.
