MQ Wang has had a long and varied career in the tech industry. Starting in 2005, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2007, they began working as a Graduate Research Assistant at Stanford University. In 2008, they were a Co-founder and CEO of Cloud Assembly and a Data Scientist Intern at Facebook. In 2009, they were a Co-founder and CTO of Bolebi.com and a Data Scientist at Alibaba Cloud Computing Company. In 2010, they were a Software Engineer at Twitter Research, working on User Recommendation, Graph Server, Personalized Search, and Ads Targeting, as well as a Venture Fellow at Lightspeed Venture Partners, working with Team Mokini on reducing social data and mailing list email noise through machine learning. In 2013, they became a Fellow at XSeed Capital. Finally, in 2014, they founded and became the CEO of Zero Zero Robotics Inc.
MQ Wang began their educational journey at HZ No. 4 Middle School. Mengqiu (MQ) then attended the University of Otago, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with first-class Honors in Computer Science and Telecommunications from 2001 to 2005. Following their undergraduate studies, MQ Wang attended Carnegie Mellon University, where they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Science from 2005 to 2007. Finally, MQ Wang attended Stanford University, where they earned a PhD in Computer Science from 2007 to 2014.
