Jens Roland has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Jens started their career as a Visiting Researcher and Technology Forecaster at the Institute for the Future in 2007. Jens then worked as a Lab Agent at Innovation Lab, where they identified emerging trends and technologies while providing strategic services to clients and partners. After that, they freelanced as an IT Consultant at M&M Productions, a film production company.
In 2009, Jens became a Front End Developer at QXL, the largest online auction community in Denmark, before moving on to Trendsales, where they served as a Lead Front End Developer and was responsible for performance optimization and the internal front-end platform.
In 2013, they joined AudienceProject as a Data Platform Lead and Deputy Head of Development, where they played a vital role in building their industry-leading Big Data audience measurement SaaS platform. Jens then worked at Accenture as a Manager, focusing on Big Data and Advanced Analytics.
In 2018, they became the Lead Data Engineer/Architect at Electrolux, leading a team in designing and building a custom data platform for machine learning and analytics. After that, they served as a Senior Cloud & Data Engineer at RaySearch Laboratories, where they worked on healthcare data analytics SaaS tools.
Currently, Jens is the Director of Engineering at ZeroNorth, where they shape and evangelizes new standards, templates, and workflows to deliver code and architecture efficiently and with high quality. Jens is also responsible for solving problems, writing clean code, and utilizing new techniques and technology. Additionally, they design, develops, and maintains technical solutions for the company.
Jens Roland earned a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Aarhus University between 2003 and 2007. Prior to that, they completed their Studentereksamen with a focus on Mathematics at Rosborg Amtsgymnasium & HF from 1997 to 2000. In addition to their formal education, they obtained certifications in Machine Learning from Stanford University through Coursera and in Neural Networks and Deep Learning from deeplearning.ai in 2020.
