Zakir Durumeric

Zakir Durumeric is an accomplished academic and technology professional with extensive experience in computer science and engineering. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Stanford University since September 2018, Zakir co-founded Censys in September 2017, where Zakir holds the position of Chief Scientist. Additionally, Zakir is a Board Member at zeroRISC since 2023. Previous roles include Visiting Researcher at the International Computer Science Institute from 2015 to 2017, and Research Assistant at the University of Michigan from 2011 to 2017. Zakir began their career as a Systems Administrator and Programmer II at the University of Iowa from 2006 to 2011, following their tenure as a Systems Administrator at WiderNet from 2003 to 2006. Zakir earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Iowa.
