Daniele Mazzei began their career in 2006 as a PhD student at the Interdepartmental Centre of Research "E.PIaggio". In 2007, they took on a role as Business Plan Developer at Kirkstall Ltd. The following year, they became a Web and Tech Developer at Leaning Lab. In 2009, they were the IDEA project team leader at IRCCS Fondazione Stella Maris. In 2010, they were a Post Doc Researcher at the Interdepartmental research center "E.Piaggio" and a Professore Associato at Università di Pisa. Daniele also became the Technical Director of the EASEL project in 2013. In 2014, they co-founded and became the Technical Director of TOI - Things On Internet. In 2016, they were the Chief Product Officer and Chief System Architect at Zerynth. Finally, in 2021, they became the Vice President of ANIPLA - Associazione Nazionale Italiana Per L'Automazione.
Daniele Mazzei obtained a Bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering from Università di Pisa in 2004. Daniele then went on to pursue a Master degree in Biomedical Engioneering from the same institution, which they completed in 2006. Following that, they earned a PhD in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Università di Pisa in 2010.
