Bryn Ronalds, PhD.

Bryn Ronalds, PhD. has three years of work experience. In 2020, they began working as a Data Scientist - Machine Learning at Zesty.ai and as a Data Science Fellow at Insight Data Science. At Insight Data Science, they developed an image recommendation system, matching user-input tattoo images with local Montreal tattoo artists from a curated list of the most popular and inclusive studios in the area. This project represented a full data pipeline, including data acquisition, a neural network classification system for image processing, a neural network feature extraction and clustering algorithm for image recommendation based on similarity, and a web app deployed using AWS. From 2016 to 2020, Bryn Ronalds was a Graduate Research Assistant at Colorado State University, where they analyzed changes in large-scale wind patterns and North American temperature regimes using unsupervised machine learning clustering algorithms. Bryn also conducted statistical significance of the resulting changes using Gaussian statistics, boostrapping techniques, and modified p-value analysis taking spatial autocorrelation into account.

Bryn Ronalds, PhD. obtained their Doctor of Philosophy in Atmospheric Sciences from Colorado State University in 2020. Bryn had previously earned a Master's Degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology from McGill University in 2016, and a Bachelor's Degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology from McGill University in 2014.
