Shanel Gauthier

Shanel Gauthier has worked in various roles since 2017. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Java Programmer (CO-OP) and Quality Assurance Specialist (CO-OP) at Global Affairs Canada | Affaires mondiales Canada. In 2019, they worked as a Software Developer (CO-OP) at Apption Software, a Corrector for the Python Introduction Course at the University of Ottawa, and a Data Scientist (CO-OP) at Apption Software. In 2021, they worked as a Teacher Assistant at Université de Montréal. In 2022, they are currently working as a Senior Data Scientist at ZestyAI and a Data Scientist at OROHealth, where they are responsible for training models to classify skin diseases on real-world images, conducting robust experiments, and leading initiatives to improve the performance and uncertainty quality of models.

Shanel Gauthier has pursued a variety of educational paths. From 2015 to 2019, they attended the University of Ottawa and obtained a BASc in Software Engineering, with a CGPA of 9.93. In 2020 and 2021, they have been pursuing two master's degrees simultaneously, one from Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute in Deep Learning, and another from Université de Montréal in Deep Learning (DIRO).
