John Kasalo

John Kasalo has over 10 years of experience in the software engineering industry. John began their career in 2005 as a J2EE Developer with Sun Microsystems, where they refactored the registration application for developer.sun.com to use JSTL 1. In 2006, they worked as a J2EE Developer, Performance (Contract) at PayPal, where they delivered servlets, JSP, tags CSS2 and JavaScript to integrate Verisign's Payment System into PayPal's build infrastructure. John also worked as a J2EE Engineer, DevOps (Contract) at Adobe, where they ported Adobe's LiveCycle 8.0 and Policy Server 7.0 from JBoss/MySQL to WebLogic/Oracle and WebSphere/DB2 clustered on Solaris 9 (EJB, JMS, JMX, SSL). In 2007, John worked as an Independant Consultant, where they researched, developed, and implemented methods to autonomously detect and correct routing issues in networks with mobile access points. John also worked as a Core Java Engineer (Contract) at PacketMotion, where they wrote a Java Spring component to monitor and command firmware for a security appliance. In 2010, John worked as a Core Java Developer (Contract) at Apple, where they wrote code patches and unit tests for the merchandising and product data sections of the Apple Online Store (AOS). John also worked as a J2EE Developer (Contract) at Nexant, where they refactored major portions of an out-sourced Spring/Hibernate/JPA/JSF app. From 2011 to 2012, John worked as a Java Developer, Sr. at Juniper Networks. John then worked as a Java Developer, Sr. at Zettaset from 2014 to the present.

John Kasalo holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, as well as a Master of Science in Engineering from Santa Clara University. John also holds various certifications, including an AWS Websites and Web Apps certification from Qwiklabs (obtained in June 2018), a Big Data on AWS certification from Qwiklabs (obtained in October 2017), an edX Honor Code Certificate for Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python (obtained in March 2015), a Getting and Cleaning Data certification from Coursera (obtained in May 2014), a Machine Learning certification from Coursera (obtained in May 2014), an R Programming certification from Coursera (obtained in May 2014), a Statistical Analysis certification from Stanford Online (obtained in April 2014), a Sun Certified Java Programmer certification from Sun Microsystems (obtained in July 1998), a Professional Engineer License from the California Board for Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors (obtained in June 1994), and a Cisco Certified Network Consultant certification from Cisco (obtained in March 2003).
