Sumita Batra has over 30 years of global experience in brand development, strategy, and fundraising. Sumita is currently a Senior Advisor/Consultant at GRA - Global Restructuring Advisors, where they provide strategic advice and solutions to global brands and executives. Sumita also serves as the Operating Partner in a brand consulting firm.
In 1986, they founded Ziba Beauty and has since served as the CEO. Sumita built the company from the ground up, designed the operational systems, managed budgets, and developed the sales and marketing strategy. Sumita continues to provide strategic leadership and maintain operational accountability.
Sumita is the Co-Founder of The Pro Safety Group, where they organized the Pro Safety Beauty Summit. This virtual event aims to bring together the beauty and safety industries by providing safety products, protocols, and education.
From 2014 to 2016, Sumita was the Founder & COO of Sumita Cosmetics. Sumita rebranded the Sumita brand and launched multiple products in different regions.
Sumita has also worked as a Consultant and Advisor at The London School of Beauty & Make-up, where they helped develop strategic visions, researched competitive landscapes, and collaborated with major universities and beauty schools.
Sumita became a member of YPO, the premier leadership organization for chief executives, from 2012 to 2015.
Sumita authored a book called "The Art of Mehndi" in 2000, which explores the history and symbolism of the ancient Indian art of henna design.
Additionally, Sumita served as the President of TiE Southern California in 2009, a nonprofit organization supporting entrepreneurs.
Sumita Batra received their Bachelor's degree in Communication and Media Studies from California State University, Long Beach, which they completed between 1988 and 1990. In 2009 to 2011, they pursued additional education at Franklin Covey, where they completed the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People program and The Executive Leadership Program in Organizational Leadership. In 2017, they also attended Landmark, completing the Forum and Advanced programs, although the field of study is not specified.
