Joey Fortuna

Appointed CTO of Ziff Davis in January 2018, Joey Fortuna oversees corporate IT initiatives, policies and practices, and facilitates cross-company technology efforts. A central figure in driving innovation and developing proprietary technology across Ziff Davis’ media businesses, Joey previously served as CTO of Ziff Davis prior to its acquisition by J2 Global, then continued as CTO of J2 Global’s entire media portfolio.

Joey has more than 25 years of experience in technical leadership, software engineering methodology, systems architecture, data services, analytics, product support and quality assurance. Prior to joining Ziff Davis in 2011, Joey was Senior Vice President of Engineering at VINDICO Group, VP of Engineering at Quigo, and co-founder and Vice President of Technology at Pseudo Programs, Inc.

Joey holds patents for stateful gaming systems, algorithmic methods of content production, digital identity and proof-of-work, data mining and contextual summarization. He currently sits on the board of the New York Chapter of Girls in Tech.

Joey earned his Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Columbia University.
