Jason Puracal

Jason Puracal has a diverse range of work experience. From 2014 to present, they have been the CEO/Co-Founder of ZILA Works, where they are involved in the development of industrial bio-plastics that help reduce carbon footprints for companies like snowboard and wind turbine manufacturers.

From 2018 to 2021, Puracal was the Executive Director of East Shore Unitarian Church, where they contributed to various initiatives such as implementing new software, developing a financial strategic plan, promoting racial justice, and reducing the facility's carbon footprint. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Finance and Operations at the same organization from 2015 to 2018.

In 2015, Puracal worked as a Regional Campaign Representative for Carbon Washington, a non-partisan political campaign aiming to put a revenue-neutral carbon tax on the Washington state ballot. The goal was to reduce carbon emissions without harming the economy or worsening tax disparities.

During their internships and independent contracting experiences, Puracal gained experience in conservation finance with the Wildlife Conservation Society, advised on sustainable infrastructure projects for private coastal developments, and managed sustainable organic farms with an emphasis on community development at Finca Las Nubes & Finca Java.

Before these roles, Puracal had a managing broker/owner position at RE/MAX, where they handled various aspects of real estate transactions and provided investment consulting and development advice.

Jason Puracal received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Zoology/Animal Biology and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics from the University of Washington, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. Jason later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Sustainable Business at Presidio Graduate School from 2013 to 2015.
