Brent Sorensen

Mechanical Engineer II at ZincFive

Brent Sorensen has a diverse work experience. Brent began their career in 2012 as a Farm Hand at a Local Farm, where they maintained the shelter of twenty ducks and two horses, and learned how to operate a tractor, brush hog, line trimmer, log splitter, push mower and a chainsaw. In 2015, they worked as a Recreation Attendant at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where they provided customer service to the diverse population of students and faculty. In 2016, they worked as a Mechanical Testing Co-op at Medtronic, where they created test methods and wrote test reports. In 2017, they worked as a Mechanical Design Co-op at Medtronic, where they created design changes, wrote engineering analysis, ran finite element analyses, and put together Engineering Change Orders. In 2018, they worked as a Testing Engineer Intern at Biomass Controls, LLC, where they designed tests to run on the biogenic refinery, analyzed collected data, and designed a sheetmetal test stand. Brent also worked as an Engineer at Intertek in 2019 and as an Electro-Mechanical Test Engineer and Test Engineer at Powin in 2020. Currently, they are a Mechanical Engineer I at ZincFive, Inc.

Brent Sorensen attended Woodstock Academy from 2010 to 2014, where they obtained their high school diploma. Brent then attended Rochester Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2019, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
