James Peterson

James Peterson possesses extensive experience in education and swim instruction, currently serving as the Lead and Site Coordinator for After School and Aquatics at YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago since February 2013. James is also an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor and Swim Instruction Trainer, responsible for swim lesson instruction and participant safety. In addition, multiple positions as a substitute teacher have been held across various school districts since 2013, where curriculum implementation and classroom management were key responsibilities. James has also developed coaching skills as Head Swim Team Coach for Antioch Wave Swim Team and previously held long-term physical education teaching roles at St. Bede School and St. Peter School. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Teacher Leadership from Aurora University and a Master of Arts in Curriculum & Development from National Louis University, among other degrees in education and health.
