Aaron Benson

Aaron Benson currently serves as the SVP, Director of Model Risk Management at Zions Bancorporation, a position held since November 2014, where responsibilities include directing the review and mitigation of model risk within the bank. Prior to this role, Aaron held the position of VP, Sr. Risk Officer, overseeing the validation and review of statistical, econometric, and machine learning models, while managing a team of analysts. Aaron's academic background includes serving as an Assistant/Associate Professor at Texas Tech University from February 2008 to November 2014, focusing on microeconomic theory and natural resource economics, and conducting research in the same field. Education credentials include a PhD in Economics from Washington State University and a BS in Mathematics from Brigham Young University.
