Alvin Rusly

Alvin Rusly has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Alvin started their career in 2008 as a Project Engineer Assistant at ATIVO Maintenance & Project Services. Alvin then pursued a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of New South Wales, where they also worked as a Tutor. During their time as a PhD Research Student, Alvin presented at symposiums, published peer-reviewed papers, and received recognition for their work in setting up Australia's first Optically-Accessible Diesel Engine.

After completing their PhD in 2013, Alvin joined Vision Critical as an Account Coordinator and later became an Account Manager. Alvin was responsible for developing client relationships, managing projects, and implementing online communities for various companies across the Asia Pacific region. Alvin also served as a product champion for a next-generation software platform.

In 2016, Alvin joined ABN Impact as an Insight Community Account Manager. Their responsibilities included managing key clients in South East Asia, expanding business influence, and promoting community management best practices for growth and customer retention.

From 2017 to 2018, Alvin worked at Voyage Control as an Account Management Executive, contributing to the development of an inbound logistics management software platform. The platform aimed to streamline processes, enhance security, reduce congestion, improve driver experience, and benefit the environment.

Alvin then joined Empirics in 2018 as a Data and Analytics Consultant. Alvin supported organizations in maximizing the value of their data and achieving their business goals. Empirics is a subsidiary of the global Link Group, providing comprehensive data and information solutions.

In 2021, Alvin joined Servian as an Associate Consultant and later became a Consultant. Alvin provided consulting services and expertise to clients, contributing to the growth and success of the organization.

Most recently, Alvin started working at Zip Co in 2023 as a Senior Data Analyst. Alvin supports Zip's New Zealand Product team by delivering insights and growing the business in the ANZ region. Zip aims to be the first payment choice, providing consumers, merchants, and businesses with transparent, flexible, and interest-free credit solutions.

Alvin Rusly completed their education in a chronological manner. Alvin first attended UNSW from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Manufacturing and Management Engineering. Subsequently, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechanical Engineering at UNSW from 2010 to 2013.
