Ben Horst is a Senior Battery Test Engineer at Zipline since June 2023, with significant prior experience in the electric vehicle industry. At Lucid Motors, from June 2020 to June 2023, Ben led safety testing campaigns focused on battery performance under various types of abuse and developed test protocols for battery design and launch. Before Lucid Motors, Ben worked as a freelance EV and Renewables Design and Integration Engineer, supporting custom electric vehicle projects. Ben also held the role of Design Engineer at Tie Down, contributing to product development, and served as President of Eddy Motorworks, a custom electric vehicle company founded in 2016. Internships at General Motors provided early exposure to advanced vehicle engineering and concept vehicle design. Ben holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, earned in 2017.
